God Heals ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease)
WebMD says, “ALS isn't curable.” However, God’s Word says: That by the stripes (by the wounds) of Jesus Christ “you were healed.” (1 Peter 2:24).
In fact, there is ample evidence to believe and to teach that God Wants You Well and that healing is already a “done deal” in Christ.
Healing is already an accomplished work. First Peter 2:24 says, “Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.” Jesus isn’t healing people today—healing was given 2,000 years ago in Jerusalem when He took those stripes on His back. He hasn’t, and won’t, receive any more stripes. People today only receive through faith what has already been accomplished by Jesus thousands of years ago.

The following medically-documented testimony backs the fact that believers in Christ are able to receive miracle healing (right now) today by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
Danny R. Cox was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, in 1994 and was healed by Jesus Christ. Danny’s testimony, including medical diagnosis documentation, is published in the book “HIGH on a LIE.” Danny is still living today (in 2016) by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
How did Danny receive his healing?
Some of the practical answers to this question are summarized below from the testimony that appears in Danny's book (ref. pages 174 - 232). The spiritual answers may be reserved for God and God alone. However, in Matthew chapter seven, Jesus instructs his disciples (his learning followers) to ask.
"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you."
The reward for following this instruction is that “the God of peace will be with you.”
The Word of God stands contrary to popular opinion. In fact, in light of the information above, it would be more accurate to describe ALS as follows: Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, is sometimes described as a progressive, neurodegenerative disorder that causes muscle weakness. Some believe it is incurable and eventually fatal. Those beliefs are false. There is one treatment known to halt the progression of ALS. That treatment is faith in Jesus Christ.
The Word of God, the blood of The Lamb, and the word of the believer’s testimony stand as proof that “nothing is impossible with God.” (Ref. Matthew 19:26 and Revelation 12:11)
“What then shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?”
~ Paul the Apostle (Romans 8:31 MOUNCE)

What are some of the practical things that Danny did leading up to his receipt of healing from God?
- He received healing prayer from other believers (including the laying on of hands).
- He believed in the Word of God.
- He confessed (he spoke out loud) the Word of God daily.
In his book on page 208, Danny explains: "I stood on God's Word in 1 Peter 2:24 that by the stripes of Jesus I was healed. I confessed this hundreds of times daily according to Mark 11:23."
- He resisted the devil (that came in various forms of doubts and temptations).
- He allowed his faith to be strengthened by reading about the healing Word of God and receiving the testimony of another who had already been healed of ALS.
Danny writes on page 207: "The books by Norvel Hayes [How to Live and Not Die] and Kathryn Kuhlman [I Believe in Miracles] had brought my faith to a feverish pitch. All I talked about was being healed."
- He memorized and confessed God’s Word until he knew that he had received his healing.
The moment that Danny received his healing is described on pages 208 and 209.
"One day in March 1995, I was showing off for my Father in Heaven. I was walking the floor in my private one-man cell quoting Scripture and praising the name of the Lord. I knew that I was glorifying God by repeating His words. I was like a small child showing off and asking my Heavenly Father to listen to me.
As I was quoting Scripture, like a bolt of lightning, my faith met my understanding, and I was given a revelation by God. This was where the rubber finally met the road. In a millisecond the Lord revealed to me that I was healed! In a split second the Lord filled my mind and spirit with the gift of faith and healing at the same time."

- He battled doubts.
After he knew that his healing was received, the struggle was almost over. He still had to battle doubts as he began to act on his faith and exercise to recondition his weakened body. He did so, battled doubts, as described on page 210.
"I kept walking and told the devil that he was a liar (John 8:44), that by the stripes of Jesus I was healed (1 Peter 2:24) and that he [the devil] no longer had any jurisdiction over me because Christ had redeemed me from the curse of the law (Galatians 3:13)."

As a result, ALS was crushed by grace through faith in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9).
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.
~ Paul the Apostle (Ephesians 2:8-9)

~ Paul the Apostle (Ephesians 2:8-9)
It may be important for some to know that the original Greek word “saved” that appears in Ephesians 2:8-9 is “sozo” which means the following: Strong's #4982: sozo (pronounced sode'-zo): To save, deliver or protect (literally or figuratively), heal, preserve, save (self), do well, be (make) whole.
True testimony is vital. True testimony provides true hope.

Danny Cox is not an isolated incident. More testimonies of God healing ALS are listed below:
- JJ LaCarter was miraculously healed of ALS in 2009. A link to JJ's story appears HERE.
- Ron White, a retired major in the U.S. Army and Vietnam combat veteran was healed of ALS in the early 1980s. A link to Ron's story appears HERE.
- Wendy Moore was healed of ALS ... Wendy's story appears HERE.
- Tony Myers testifies that Jesus Christ healed him of Lou Gehrig's and many other problems. Tony's testimony is available through the YouTube link HERE.
- Doris Hoffmeier is reported to have been healed of ALS in the 1950s during a Kathryn Kulhman meeting in St. Louis. Danny R. Cox mentioned that knowledge of this healing was a great source of faith during his ordeal. According to Danny, Doris Hoffmeier’s grandson was interviewed in 1995 and confirmed Doris’s healing testimony as “absolutely true and that God had indeed healed Doris from the incurable disease (ALS).” Reference the book “HIGH on a LIE” pg. 205.
Jesus Christ is the truth (John 14:6) and His word shows the way for God’s people to think and live.
“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me – put these things into practice, and the God of peace will be with you.”
~ Paul the Apostle (Philippians 4:8-9 MOUNCE)

The instruction here is to “let your mind dwell on these things” and to “put these things into practice.”
The reward for following this instruction is that “the God of peace will be with you.”

Author’s Note -
It is my hope and sincere prayer that everyone shall receive the fullness of salvation through Christ Jesus.
The Lord is not willing that anyone should perish. (Ref. 2 Peter 3:9)
God loves you. God loves me. God wants us all to be saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
That is why God sent His Son Jesus – for you, for me, for the world to be saved.
“For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but so that the world might be saved through Him.”

To be “saved” (Strong's #4982: sozo) means to be delivered and protected (literally or figuratively), to be healed, to be preserved, to do well, and to be made whole.
God bless you.
